Braga’s Christmas Tradition

With the arrival of Christmas, the long-awaited meeting on the famous Rua de Souto, more precisely at the “Bananeiro”, is also approaching. The tradition, which takes place at a 4-minutes’ walk from Moon & Sun Braga, happens just a few hours before Christmas Eve and brings together thousands of people.

For more than three decades, the establishment functioned as a banana warehouse which, in order to attract more customers, set up a counter at its entrance selling muscatel wine to accompany the house specialty: banana. Despite its unusualness, this habit ended up extending over generations and bringing together families and groups of friends at the same meeting point every year.

On the 24th of December, until 8 pm, visit the “Bananeiro” and toast the festivities with a banana and a glass of muscat. Don't miss this emblematic tradition of Braga’s city!
